Road through the desert fairy circles
In researching aerial images of the Australian outback I came across some unusual patterns in the desert. Circles of regularly spaced patches of bare earth scattered throughout the vegetation. They are known as ‘fairy circles’ and are apparently quite rare. You really only get the effect of them viewed from above. So this piece is a road cutting through the Pilbara surrounded by the beautiful fairy circles.
