The Groves
This abstract landscape was inspired by aerial images of orange orchards and the beautiful patterns of tree planting seen from above. Created by weaving strips of painted recycled paper together, the surface of the work is not completely flat, areas of the weaving are raised up to create a more three dimensional, sculptural feel. The work is wrapped around a thin edge canvas so it’r ready to hang as is and coated in varnish for added protection.

In this collection of work I’ve been delving deeper into the visual language of dots, lines and circles that I have been building over the years with my abstract landscape work. The pieces are inspired by marks left on the earth through farming, mining and urbanisation.
